Counsellor Directory

This innovative membership service serves to promote business information about your counselling practice, specialized services and skills as well as the ability to upload a profile picture and business logo. With futurist trends heading towards a generation that seeks information online as well as a specific set of skills, knowledge and experience, the CPCA believes this directory will provide a competitive edge for marketing our member's counselling services across Canada to the public, insurance providers, EAP contractors and government for verification of your legitimacy. All members who are in "good standing" will be approved to list their contact information in the directory on an annual basis. It allows our members to login to their directory listing once it has been approved and make any changes to their contact information.

Description

As a skilled Counselling Therapist, I use an individualised, integrative, compassionate, neurodiversity and 2SLGBTQI+ affirming approach to empower clients in my practice, help them to develop life skills and utilise the resources within to help face and resolve life’s challenges.

Therapy helps us to examine our past experience, reveal themes within our behaviours and understand what motivates us. Therapy also helps us to examine past trauma. Within the safety of therapy we can focus on how our thoughts and behaviours, as well as the systems we exist within, contribute to our problems, and gain insight on how we might learn new ways to react to the world around us.

The focus of my work is to help my clients learn to trust themselves and realise their potential. It helps to identify and understand long held beliefs and assumptions that get in the way of our health, happiness and wellbeing. This discovery gives us permission to begin to question and evaluate the beliefs and assumptions that form barriers to our healthy self-development and happiness.

I am a Counselling Therapist (CT) with the Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta; a Registered Professional Counsellor (RPC) and hold a Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling (MPCC) designation with the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA); a Registrant on the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP); and, a Graduate Member with the British Psychological Society (MBPsS).
Originally from Canada, I obtained my BA(Hons) Counselling Studies and MSc Psychology at the University of Plymouth in the UK, where I also completed my practicum training to become a Counselling Therapist and Clinical Supervisor.
